A space meant for empowering Black, Indigenous, Latine, Asian, and other POC Creatives to make connections in a fun, open community.

Black Card Members is a space meant for empowering creatives of color; providing an open space for creatives of color to express themselves, make connections, and have fun amongst their peers; and Black Card Members is a space of advocation for those creatives of color and the black and brown community of every mix and shade. Our name is inspired by not the black card, the reference to passes into Black culture, but instead is reference to the exclusive Black Card credit card, that premium card the rich hold, because we’re all rich in who we are; we’re rich in our races, ethnicity, and/or melanin.

Frequently Asked questions

Is Black Card Members for the Black/Afro community only?
Not at all! While BCM was founded by the Black community we are are open to the Black, Asian, Latine, Native, Islander communities and everything in between! Our reasoning for this is that a lot of people are not just Black. We have plenty of people here who have more than one identity or also struggle with prejudice and colorism in their own communities. Our goal for having a diverse BIPOC community is to grow and learn from one another. There's a lot that we can gain from having a multicultural community.
Why call it Black Card Members then?
The term Black Card is not in reference to giving someone a pass on Black culture, but rather it is a type of extremely exclusive card that is almost solely reserved for the ultra-wealthy, but in our case the BIPOC community. A fancy credit card!
What kind of creatives do you support?
All! From illustrators, graphic designers, game devs, cosplayers, writers, animators, musicians, and more!
I'm not a person of color, can I still support Black Card Members?
Of course you can! Supporting our community shows that you care about this community. people of color, and their creativity. You can support us by following our social media where you can find these artists individually, or even donating to our Ko-Fi page that helps fund events and giveaways!
What is the Ko-Fi used for?
Our Ko-Fi page is used towards community funds. We boost our server, commission artists for emotes, and even have giveaways! Absolutely none of the money is used for any personal use.
Does BCM support NFTs or AI Art?
This is not something we allow in our community space. While we love to support all creators in what they do, the NFT market is not something we stand for. Additionally we believe AI Art is something that at the end of the day steals and takes away from creators.

Events

BCM hosts events in the summer and winter; and occasionally one off events here and there! From small events like art telephones to our bigger events like our online convention Black Card Gala!

Our staff work hard to make sure there are events for members to participate in!From Black Card Summer to the Black Card Gala, there's plenty to do in our community!
